Half-term at Worcestershire County Museum at
Hartlebury Castle promises to be great fun with a week long
‘Jubilation!' event celebrating all things Royal.
In honour of this very special occasion the
popular half term craft activities will this year be given a Royal
theme.
Between Bank Holiday Monday, 4 June and
Friday, 8 June (inclusive), 10.30am-4pm, youngsters will be able to
get stuck in to a whole array of colourful activities marking the
Queen's Jubilee including fashioning origami crowns, creating your
own coat of arms, decorating a commemorative scroll, starting a
Royal scrapbook and planting some Jubilee seeds.
In addition, children will also be able to
follow a 1950s themed trail around the museum's galleries where
visitors can also discover over 1000 years of history including
toys from the past, historic room sets and beautiful Gypsy
caravans.
Worcestershire County Council Visitor
Experience Manager Rachel Robinson said: “It’s going to be
five jolly Jubilee days at the museum with different hands on craft
activities every day to keep the youngsters entertained and to
allow them to make something special to commemorate this very
exciting national event.”
The Museum’s Castle Kitchen Café will also
be offering Jubilee special such as Coronation
Cupcakes.
Three different craft activities will take
place each day, activities vary from day to day so please call if
you would like more specific information.
The Museum admission charge is £5 adults,
£2.50 children/concessions or a family ticket is just £13.
For a day’s activities there is an additional charge of £1 per
child. Or, a Family Pass valid for 12 months is available for £32
which includes all the activities and events through the year.
